Fun Fun Fun

I always loved riding the rides at the fair and I loved fireworks but I never realized that I could love watching someone else enjoy those things so much! We took AJ to the Annual Strawberry Festival here in Lebanon. It is held here in Lebanon the first full weekend in June every year for the last 98 years. It is a great time and very fun. There is a huge parade every year...it usually take over 2 hours for the parade. We headed out to the parade yesterday morning but AJ was just not acting right...he was crying and clinging to Mommy. He started to tell me his mouth and ear hurt. By the time we got our breakfast he was miserable and in so much pain he was screaming. We decided to skip the parade and head to Urgent Care (yes we should get frequent patient awards)...it turns out that there was a sudden onset of fluid in his left ear which caused a lot of pain and the fluid in his right ear is still there from 2 months ago :-( He also has some throat discomfort from post nasal drip from allergie. The doctor gave us some Augmentin and some drops for his ear to help with pain. He also instructed us to give AJ some Loratadine daily...apparently he has some allergy issues. We came home and he slept for a little bit and then we went for a little ride. Then we got some dinner and on the way home he was feeling so much better. He fell asleep when we got home and slept for 3+ hours. He then got up and was happy, happy, happy! We had tickets for all day ride bracelets so we decided to try that out. He was thrilled with the rides and took Mommy with him. Who knew the Japoly ride could be so much fun!! AJ enjoyed driving Mommy around and Mommy had fun watching him drive! We watched the fireworks while in line for a ride and AJ was mesmorized! It was more fun watching him than watching the actual show. We went on many rides and then went to look at the crafts. On the other side of the crafts was a band playing classic rock and Kevin and I cracked up watching AJ dance to the "good music" The kid has good taste in music!!! :-) Then it was time for more rides...the ferris wheel was next. AJ was so impressed by how high we went but Mommy was just worried about the car tipping over....funny how my attitude toward everything has changed now I am a Mommy! AJ then insisted that he wanted to go on the big slide. I have never been a big fan of the slide but I did not want AJ to be scared so off we went. He and I climbed and climbed and when we got to the top Mommy almost chickened out but there really was nowhere to go. AJ waited while Mommy got on the blanket and then he climbed on and we were off. The sound of AJ's squeals and laughs was worth every bit of anxiety I had! All in all it was a fun night and got us out of our oven or as most people call it "home" and out in some fresh air. Fun Fun Fun!!!
