Potty Time

Daycare is closed today so I took the opportunity to take a day off and stay home with my little man. I decided that since I would be home all day with him and we really did not have a lot going on that I would seriously potty train today. AJ and I went to WalMart and picked out some big boy underwear with Cars characters on them. He was so excited about his underwear that he could hardly wait to wear them this morning. I made sure he pee'd on the potty first thing this morning and then we put the big boy underwear on. The first pair he chose were the Ramone ones. He kept telling me he did not want to get Ramone wet so he wanted to pee on the potty. We did really well for 5 whole hours. He was sitting on the potty and actually going at least once per hour and he was staying dry and clean. He went to his room to play with his play dough and that is when he had his first accident. He came out with a panicky look on his face and said "I have to poop!!" I said okay and then saw the tell tale signs that it was too late in the sagging undies. He had just waited too long. He was so sad when he saw the poop in his underwear. I said "Oh no...you got Ramone poopy". He was so upset and watched as I cleaned his undies. He said "I sorry Ramone" and then got on the potty. I made sure to tell him it was just a mistake and Ramone understood but he just kept apologizing to Ramone..so sweet! He is doing well again... Maybe we will be a diaper free house before he goes to kindergarten! :-)
